Local photographer Robyn Macrae has been recruited to document the Sugar Pine Walk in Bago State Forest in anticipation of it being torn down as a result of bushfire damage.

Robyn joined Bronte and Sam this morning to chat about the work she's doing, capturing photos and video footage over the past weeks.

Following the devastation of the 2019-20 bushfire season, work will soon begin to remove the forest.

She also spoke about why the area is so special to her and many locals, and what she's hoping to achieve in this massive project.

"I've seen a lot of outpouring of grief in a way on Facebook from other photographers and locals. I guess it wasn't expected that we would lose the forest. Not that we took it for granted, but along with everything else, it's just another sadness to overcome."
