A 100 strong protest group dodged by PREMIER ANNASTACIA PALASZCZUK at the MECC. Members of AGFORCE and ANGRY FARMERS staging the protest yesterday afternoon over new vegetation management laws. The Premier slipping the group by using a side entrance rendering their voices useless. MACKAY Regional Councilor MARTIN BELLA reportedly refused access to the MECC due to his involvement in the protest despite being invited to the meet and greet.

SARINA POLICE charge a man over a string of break ins. The 41 year old allegedly breaking into businesses around the region over the weekend. Identified through CCTV footage he has been charged with damaging property, trespassing, and breaking and entering.


ATHLETES in MACKAY have scored a massive haul of practically brand new sporting gear Equipment from the Commonwealth Games is beginning to be distributed across Australia, with our region getting first pickings. Mackay Regional Mayor Greg Williamson says they've scored about 200 items.

Delegates from LONDON, HONG KONG TAHITI and FLORIDA will get the VIP treatment in MACKAY and THE WHITSUNDAYS region this month. They'll be here for the SUPER YACHT GROUP GREAT BARRIER REEF FAMILIARISATION TOUR. It's an annual event that helps to promote the region to the superyacht industry- including some tailor made luxury tours.
