It should be smooth sailing on the Bruce Highway North of Mackay. The State Government yesterday releasing the design of the Northern Access Upgrade Project Stage 1.. worth 80 million dollars. Its aiming to improve safety and traffic flows on the busy section of road. There'll be an increase of 4 lanes to 6 from the Ron Camm Bridge to the Mackay-Bucasia Road intersection.

POLICE have put a dent in the DRUG scene in the MACKAY region. Stats just out showing more than 800 offences recorded in MARCH .. 200 of those were drug related. In the WHITSUNDAYs there was another 150! The arrests by police following targeted police operations -- including PAPA JERSEY getting more than 800 thousand dollars’ worth of drugs off the streets.
