The father of the two year old girl injured in the horrific Mackay Eungella Road crash last week that killed Fred Savage has spoken out on the family's condition. In his public statement he says Aylah is doing well and heading home from Townsville hospital to Mackay soon. His wife is now also in a stable condition and he expressed his thanks to the community for raising more than $20 thousand dollars in a go-fund-me page for their recuperation.

Dawson MP George Christensen believes Mackay is the real winner to come out of Adani's announcement of a FIFO hub in nearby Rockhampton. He told the Daily Mercury Mackay is doing what they do best....providing mining support services and acting as a logistics hub.


Residents in the Mackay and the Whitsundays have started to prepare for the upcoming cyclone season. The cyclone season runs from November till April. Deputy Premier Jackie Trad says the time is now  


Mother Joanna Spooner is suing Qantas after a turbulent flight from Hamilton Island to Brisbane ruptured her eardrum and left her with permanent ear damage. The incident occurred back in 2015- since then she's been using a donated hearing aid but is seeking $25 thousand dollars for one that is permanently fixed to the bone. The matter is still ongoing.
