Investigations are underway following an attempted armed robbery from a Mildura grocery store.
Mildura Crime investigation Unit detectives are following up the attempted robbery that occurred in an Asian grocery store on Deakin Avenue around 5pm Friday May 5.

Police have been told two men armed with knives came into the store they approached the attendant and demanded cash.

When the attendant refused the men reportedly ran from the store.

Detectives believe there were a number of customers in store at the time and would like to speak to any witnesses or anyone who might have information.

A Mildura man in his 20s will spend 30 days behind bars after throwing a meat cleaver at his partner.

Missing her narrowly the court heard yesterday he was probably high on ice at the time.

The Sunraysia Daily reports the man pleaded guilty to the crime and will serve 30 days followed by a community corrections order.


As we celebrate national volunteer week 4 local volunteer groups in Wentworth have recently been successful in receiving Government Funding support.

The Wentworth District Racing club, the angling club, the show society and the Wentworth Sporting Complex and Golf club have all received 5000 each to help better support workers and volunteers through financing much needed equipment, training and transportation.
