A motorcyclist has died after a two vehicle collision in Irymple last month.

It is alleged that a vehicle failed to give way before turning right into Sandilong Avenue and was struck by the motorcycle.

The rider, a 68 year old Mildura man, has died.

The death has taken VIC Roads death toll up to 111.

New figures released by the Victorian Crime Statistics Agency has shown crime in the Mildura LGA has risen by 13.3 percent since December 2014.

The total number of offences has taken a leap, from 5950 to 6767.

There's also been a jump in theft, with a 11.3 percent increase from last year to this year.

Experts say the rise is due to a spike in population.

An outcry from residents have gone unheard, with Mildura Council saying it has no plans to move Mildura Landfill.

The location of the landfill has been hotly contested for many years, being too close for comfort to it's proximity to the Mildura Base Hospital, Mildura Golf resort and locals homes.

Victoria Legal Aid has issued an alarming report indicating Magistrates court like Mildura are close to breaking point.

VLA's criminal law executive director Helen Fatouros says the organisation's lawyers are essential to our justice system but they are stretched to breaking point along with police prosecutors and court staff.

Recent funding from the State Government's not expected to help VLA alleviate the pressure.
