Local legends to be recognised on Australia Day

Wagga's Australia Day award nominees have been revealed.

There are three local heroes in the running for Citizen of the Year, Alan Lean, David Mundy and Michael Georgiou.

Alan Lean is also up for the Walk of Honour award, along with Cecil 'Bob' Scott, John Wilks, Karenne Connors, Kaye Lean, Ryan Lock and Bill Prest.

Among the finalists for Young Citizen of the Year are Isaac Cornell, Dr Matthew Lennon and Mia Bowcher.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Civic Theatre on Friday 25 January.
