It was a night to celebrate Canberra’s top tourist attractions – with plenty of worthy winners taking home big awards!
The best of the best in tourism gathered at the Canberra Region Tourism Awards on Friday, with guests lapping up the atmosphere at the National Museum.
Staff at the National Gallery of Australia were thrilled to take home the award for Major Tourist Attraction.
Among the other major winners were Questacon – the National Science and Technology Centre which won the Tourist Attraction category and the National Museum of Australia which took home the Major Festival and Events award for their exhibition ‘A History of the World in 100 objects from the British Museum.’
Local accommodation hot spots were also recognised for their work – with Jamala Wildlife Lodge winning the Unique Accommodation category.
In other awards, Vibe Hotel Canberra Airport took out the Deluxe Accommodation category and Hyatt Hotel Canberra won the Luxury Accommodation award.
