Latrobe City Council will consider reducing the CBD speed limits in Churchill, Moe, Morwell and Traralgon to 40 kilometres an hour in an effort to reduce fatalities and serious road crashes in the area.

Regional Roads Victoria data shows there have been two fatalities in the past five years for Traralgon and Moe, and six cases of serious injury in Traralgon, Morwell and Moe.

The Council has voted to seek funding for speed limit zones and traffic platforms. If the application is successful, the Council will consult the public.
