He's facing court next month.

A 31-year-old Kuranda man received an immediate driving suspension after allegedly driving under the influence in Myola Road, Kuranda last night.

Police will allege that while patrolling, they found the driver passed out at the steering wheel whilst still holding a beer can, at around 11.45pm last night.

The man was breath tested and taken to Mareeba Police Station for further testing where he allegedly returned an alleged reading of 0.185 per cent BAC.

He has been charged with one count of in charge of a motor vehicle whilst under the influence of liquor and is due to appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court on September 9.
