Residents in Kalgoorlie-Boulder are being urged to shop Lo-Kal and buy Kal Dollar Vouchers. It's an initiative run by the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Chamber of Commerce to encourage people to shop locally by offering gift vouchers for sale which are redeemable at various local shops as cash.

Kal Dollars can only be spent at the 63 local stores participating in the shop Lo-Kal initiative, including beauty, health, hospitality and retail outlets. Participating stores will display a Kal Dollars sticker and the full list of stores is available on the KBCCI website.

CEO Simone De Been says its aimed at directly reinvesting back into the local economy and they make great presents for friends and family.

Vouchers go for either 25 or 50 dollars each and any local businesses interested in joining the initiative should contact the KBCCI.

Shoppers are encouraged to follow #shoploKalwa on social media for news, sales, and updates on everything and if you use the hashtag your post may be featured on the #shoploKalwa Facebook and Instagram.
