Pottermore is a great website for Harry Potter fans to live out their wizarding fantasies and read small articles and stories about the wizarding world.
You can learn amazing facts about other wizards and how their laws and customs work.
But there are some things us muggles should never know.
J.K Rowling wrote a short piece on Pottermore about The Chamber of Secrets and decided to also let us know that back in the day, wizards used to just poop on the street and hide the evidence!
It was embedded into the story pretty well, but this isn't the kind of thing that could easily be missed.
"When first created, the Chamber was accessed through a concealed trapdoor and a series of magical tunnels.
"However, when Hogwarts’ plumbing became more elaborate in the eighteenth century (this was a rare instance of wizards copying Muggles, because hitherto they simply relieved themselves wherever they stood, and vanished the evidence), the entrance to the Chamber was threatened, being located on the site of a proposed bathroom."
The phrase "relieved themselves where they stood" is just all kinds of gross.
Now we're not so sure how we feel about becoming wizards.
