It's time to channel your inner Marie Kondo, because Clean Up Australia Day is right around the corner, and local residents are being asked to contribute to the health and cleanliness of our natural environment.
What started out as a simple idea in 1989 has now become the nation's largest community-based environmental event, and this morning CEO Terrie-Ann Johnson joined the show to reflect on the fascinating history behind Clean Up Australia Day, and to let you know how to get involved!
"It's never too late to start, so grab yourself a bag and some gloves and get out there and just have a look around you... and I guarantee once you start you're not going to be able to stop." - Ms Johnson
As well as participating in the flagship Clean Up Australia Day event, the organisation encourages communities, schools and businesses to help clean up Australia every day.
Clean Up Australia Day will fall on March 3rd. To register a site, head to cleanupaustraliaday.org.au.
