Overseas travellers placed in mandatory hotel quarantine were evacuated from Sydney’s Travelodge hotel last night after police found conditions did not meet hygiene standards.

This morning, we spoke with returned traveller Lauren, who was one of the 366 people evacuated, to explain exactly what conditions were like.

Although hotel quarantine is mandatory for returned travellers, guests must pay for their own accomodation, with many paying a total of $3000.
