The Foodbank Hunger Report has been released for 2020 and the results reflect a massive spike in food insecurity in young Aussies.

With the country still reeling from the impact of Coronavirus, thousands of Aussies have lost their jobs and can't always guarantee themselves a meal at the end of the week.

The number of Australians requiring food assistance has more than doubled from last years numbers, now sitting at 31%.

The Gen Z generation seems to be copping the brunt of the problem, with a whopping 65% unable to feed themselves at least once a week.

Tim & Jess spoke with CEO of Foodbank, Dave McNamara to find out more about the recent research numbers.

Foodbank is the largest provider of food and groceries to food relief charities across Australia, sharing resources with hungry Australian's struggling to make ends meet.

Dave elaborates on the term 'food insecurity', what Foodbank is doing to relieve hungry Australians and why it's important to seek help if you're struggling to put food on the table.
