Tonight is the premiere of Network Ten’s Taboo, a show which sees comedian Harley Breen get to know people who face a variety of taboo topics such as death, racism, mental health and physical disability, before creating a stand up comedy routine for his new friends and their loved ones, based on their struggles.

In the first episode since last year’s one-off pilot episode, Harley will be meeting four people who are suffering a terminal illness. But how does one create jokes about such a tragic situation?

This morning, Harley joined the Hit Network’s Bec & Cosi to discuss the show and explain how he approaches writing these taboo standup routines:

Taboo premieres tonight (June 13th) at 8:30pm on Network Ten.
