UPDATE - 8:05am:

Police have revealed a man accused of a terrifying armed hold up at a Kanwal pharmacy actually threatened a female staff member with a toy gun.

The 52-year-old allegedly demanded pain killers before he was handed endone and oxycontin from a safe.

No one was injured at the Pacific Highway business.

The male handed himself into police four hours later, with some coaxing from officers.

He's been refused bail to front Wyong Court today.

A man has handed himself into police after allegedly robbing a Kanwal pharmacy at gunpoint.

Officers say the 52-year-old raided the store on the Pacific Highway around 5:40pm yesterday, and threatened a female staff member with the firearm.

He reportedly took off with some prescription drugs, leaving the woman uninjured.

A few hours later turned up at Toukley Police Station and was arrested.

He’s behind bars until he hits Wyong Local Court today, charged with robbery with an offensive implement.
