Things just keep heating up on the Gold Coast!
This might not come as a surprise to locals after a series of stunning winter days on the Glitter Strip, but the city has just experienced its warmest July on record, for the second year running.
The average daytime temperature for last month was around 22°C.
"In Coolangatta the average July temperature was 21.9°C which is 1.3°C degrees above the long-term average and the Gold Coast Seaway was 22.3°C, 1.1°C above the long-term average," said Mark Trenorden from the Bureau of Meteorology.
Not only has it been unusually warm, Queensland has also experienced a dry spell with very little rain falling right across the state.
It was the driest July in four years.
