We’re eternally grateful to be getting another season of the beloved show, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but we’re also devastated that one of our favourite characters, Gina Linetti, will be leaving…

Chelsea Peretti, who plays our fave Gina, revealed last month that she won’t be doing the full season six of the show, BUT thanks to some new statements and goss from cast members, we’ve learned a little more!

In a statement about Chelsea’s departure as Gina Linetti, Dan Goor revealed, “I know for a fact this isn’t the last we’ll see of Gina Linetti.

“I mean, she got run over by a frickin’ bus, and she only missed like a week of work.”

Not only this, but Gina’s exit is going to be pretty epic!

Dan revealed to TV Line, “I can tease that Gina departs in a very Gina Linetti-esque way.”

He continued, saying they “have tried really hard to create a storyline for her departure that lives up to a character who can only be described as ‘The human embodiment of the 100 emoji.'”

Melissa Fumero, who plays Amy Santiago, said that her exit is “f**king epic.”

“It’s such a great Gina episode. Her grand finale is with Amy and Rosa, as it should be. She has stuff with everybody, but they paired her with us [at the end] and we had so much fun shooting that last week. It was bittersweet and sad and we definitely cried happy tears.”

Brooklyn Nine-Nine season six will drop on HBO on January 10, and on SBS Viceland here in Australia shortly after.
