One much loved Game Of Thrones character made a return in this week's episode!

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

While several characters made their way to Winterfell before the upcoming battle against the dead, fans went wild over a sneaky little appearance by someone who has been there from the start.

Of course we are talking about Ghost, Jon Snow's direwolf.

While Ghost has technically been with Jon throughout most of his journey, we've barely seen him on screen in recent seasons. Whether this is because he hasn't accompanied Jon on his most recent adventures or because they've blown the CGI budget on the dragons is probably something that will never be explained.

We haven't seen Ghost since season 6, but that's all changed now. Ghost was spotted quietly standing behind Jon and Sam while they were talking on the Winterfell wall.

And fans lost their minds:

Fans hope this means Ghost will play a big role in the upcoming Battle for Winterfell.

There was also a blink and you'll miss it cameo from an unexpected person - David S. Cohen, the former deputy director of the CIA. He popped up briefly as one of the Winterfell residents getting served soup by Ser Davos.
