A Coles customer on the Central Coast has reported finding a needle inside their mango.
The discovery was reported to police yesterday, with the mango purchased from Coles West Gosford on Monday.
“The customer purchased the mango at Coles West Gosford on Monday,” Chief Inspector Nigel Webber said.
“They had it for two days and later discovered, while cutting it up, a small needle.
“Police have seized the needle for forensic examination. No persons were injured.”
Investigations are ongoing.
This comes after PM Scott Morrison announced yesterday that there would be stricter penalties for food contamination as seen in the strawberry sabotage of the last week.
