UPDATE: A teddy bear containing the ashes of a young Gold Coast girl has been returned to her family.

The cremation bear was reportedly found by a member of the public in the car park of Westfield Helensvale on Thursday afternoon, and brought back to the girl's parents.

EARLIER: The community is being urged to help find a teddy bear lost at Westfield Helensvale yesterday.

Wearing a black Wonder Woman shirt, the bear contains a tin with the ashes of little Paige Skarratts, who made headlines when she realised her dream of being the flower girl for her parents' wedding while battling brain cancer.

She lost that battle in November last year and was cremated.

Now her father Jake has posted pictures of the lost teddy bear containing her ashes on Facebook, pleading for it to be returned.

"If you were at Helensvale Westfield shopping centre in between 12pm and 2pm and have this bear can you please give it back to centre management," read the status.

"This is our daughter Paige who passed away last year and has her ashes in it."
