A power surge shut down flights at Brisbane airport on Monday morning.

Hundreds of passengers faced long delays with baggage, check-in and security systems all affected by the surge between 6am and 8am.

Staff took to manual procedures during the 35-minute power surge, however delays extended through the morning with flights out of Brisbane's domestic terminal delayed until 10:30 am.

Travel Updates:

With flights still able to depart, travelers were warned to check online for details on their flight prior to arriving at the airport.

An investigation is under way to determine the cause of the incident.
