Yesterday Bruce McAvaney announced that this year would be his last ever Melbourne Cup call, but he sure left an impression the morning of the big race when he joined Sunrise to give his iconic phantom call.

Flick was stoked to have the catch phrase "Hang onto your G-string" as one to remember forever, and for McAvaney to hang his race calling hat on.
