On Friday morning, Highfields Police with assistance from the Toowoomba Tactical Crime Squad and Brisbane dog squad executed five search warrants at properties in Highfields, Meringandan West and Cabarlah.

As a result of the raids, five people were arrested and charged with more than 10 offences including possessing dangerous drugs and utensils.

Police also seized a quantity of methylamphetamine (Ice), cannabis and drug utensils.

All persons are due to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court over the coming months.

Operation Romeo Impact is an ongoing operation started by Highfields Police to target those involved in the supply and possession of dangerous drugs in Highfields and surrounding communities.

Officer in Charge of Highfields Police Senior Constable Chris Brameld said that the commencement of this operation demonstrates the commitment of Queensland Police to target those in the community who engaged in the supply and use of dangerous drugs.

“I thank our local community for the information which led to today’s raids and remind people that police rely on information from the public to make drug operations such as this successful,”
