The Department of Health is reminding residents and visitors in the South West region to take precautions to avoid mosquito bites over coming weeks.
It comes following the first detection of Ross River virus in mosquitoes for the 2018-19 season through the Department's surveillance program.
It's recommended that people "Fight the Bite" by covering up, repelling and cleaning up.
Department of Health and Medical, Entomologist Peter Neville, says chemical control is currently underway.
