A man has died following a three-vehicle crash on the state’s mid north coast today.

About 8.35am (Wednesday 24 April 2019), emergency services were called to Wirrimbi Road, near Gordons Knob Road, Newee Creek, following reports a Mitsubishi Triton travelling west, and two Holden Rodeos travelling east, collided.

The driver and sole occupant of the Triton – a 69-year-old man – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics, however, he died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The drivers and sole occupants of both Holden Rodeos – a 27-year-old woman and 60-year-old-man – were taken to Port Macquarie Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Mid North Coast Police District attended and established a crime scene.

Police are investigating whether the Triton driver suffered a medical episode prior to the collision.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
