Two women have been hospitalised after an accident in a Bunnings carpark this morning.

According to CareFlight, an elderly woman and her daughter were standing together outside the retail centre in Katoomba when they were struck by a reversing vehicle.

The CareFlight rapid response helicopter was sent to the scene at 10.30am, with weather conditions having an impact on its ability to land.

It ended up having to touch down in the suburb of Springwood, with NSW Police meeting the team and conveying them to the scene.

The 89-year-old woman was found stable with a leg injury and was flown by a NSW Ambulance helicopter to hospital.

However, the 65-year-old woman was trapped under the vehicle for approximately 90 minutes.

Police Rescue and NSW Fire and Rescue crews helped to free her.

She was treated at the scene for injuries to her head, legs and arms, and was taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
