Brewers Road Reserve walk, along Plane Creek in Sarina, is about to undergo an exciting transformation.

A new shared path connecting Sarina Field of Dreams Parklands to Brewers Road has been carefully designed to complement the area.

Cr Kevin Casey said the path would improve connectivity and liveability for residents.

“Once the path is complete, we expect this area to become a popular recreation and fitness hub in Sarina,” he said.

“Being situated so close to the Visitor Information Centre in the Field of Dreams, it is also in the perfect location for travellers who want to stop for a break and stretch their legs.

“The path will be all-abilities accessible and will be made of composite fibre decking, mesh boardwalk and concrete.”

The project will be completed in four stages including:

Stage 1: Pedestrian path

Stage 2: Shared path in Field of Dreams parkland

Stage 3: Shared path and access road to complete circuit

Stage 4: Boardwalk connectivity – pending future funding.

Work on stages one, two and three will start on August 19. Stage four, which connects the circuit from Brewers Road Reserve to Brewers Road, will be subject to future funding.

The project is expected to be completed by early 2020, weather permitting.

This project has been funded by council and the Queensland Government’s Works for Queensland program.
