The Bureau has released its latest update on Tropical Cyclone Oma, and we appear to be escaping most of her wrath.

She's expected to approach the Southern Queensland coast this weekend and all eyes are now on areas close to Brisbane.

There is currently a minor flood watch stretching from Gladstone south to Brisbane, and a hazardous surf warning remains in place for the Capricorn Coast.

The Bureau wants everyone to remember that weather systems like this are unpredictable and all residents need to keep up to date with official warnings.
