COVID Exposure Site Misidentified As Neighbouring Supermarket
Residents encouraged to get tested
Victoria’s department of health has been force to issue an amendment to a recently identified COVID-19 exposure site after it was revealed that the wrong location was listed.
Woolworth Epping was named as a COVID-19 exposure site a few weeks ago, resulting in staff being sent home and the entire supermarket being well-cleaned.
This morning, the department of health announced that it was not Woolworths Epping that had been exposed, but Woolworths in Epping North.
Customers and staff who attended the supermarket between 5:40PM and 6:38PM on May 8th are being encouraged to come forward to be tested for the virus and to self-isolate until their results return.
The news follows reports that wastewater from Melbourne’s north has tested positive for traces of the virus this week between Epping and Wollert.
A testing facility is accessible today at Epping Stadium from 9:30AM and Epping’s Northern Hospital between 9AM and 5PM.
Anyone with symptoms of the virus such as fever, shortness of breath, sore throat, coughing or loss of taste and smell are being encouraged to get tested ASAP.
