Could Be Perfect Weather For Christmas Day On The GC

Christmas Day on the Gold Coast is looking near perfect according to the weather forecast.

The Bureau Of Meteorology predicts a maximum of 27 degrees with just a few clouds for next Tuesday, with a slim chance of a shower.

The forecast came ahead of a stinker expected for this Friday.

Some parts of the city will swelter through 35 degree heat, well above the December average, while there was also a chance for a thunderstorm.

Meteorologist Nicholas Shera admitted it will be an ideal day to stay inside in front of the fan.

"We actually have an approaching surface trough coming in from the west, and that's going to drag some really hot north-westerly winds in from inland parts," said Shera.

"That'll actually bump the temperatures up around seven degrees above the average for December."
