This morning on the show, Bronte & Sam spoke to Speak Up For Water organiser, Jan Beer, about the Murray-Darling Basin Plan and the upcoming protest in Canberra next week.

Communities across the Murray-Darling Basin are at boiling point with trying to get the Federal Government to accept the damage being caused by the Basin Plan.

The plan is to converge on Canberra on Monday, December 2 and Tuesday, December 3 in a desperate effort to have their voices heard.

Jan told Bronte & Sam about the convoy with trucks, tractors and utes on board for the protest. There will also be the catchcry "Can the Plan".

The response has been huge, with Jan saying, "the Basin Plan is not working, it's destroying lives and livelihoods."

The convoy will gather at the Yass Caltex Service Station at 11am on Monday December 2nd

It will travel to Canberra where a Water Embassy will be established in Federation Mall. Here, a vigil will be held with those in attendance being addressed by a number of speakers. It's planned to continue the vigil again on Tuesday and arrangements are being made for those who want to roll out a swag. otherwise, you're urged to book accommodation early.
