Using public transport is about to become a lot easier, following today's announcement that contactless payments will be available for commuters.
At all metro train stations, commuters will be able to tap on and off using their credit card or mobile, instead of the current systems which only accepts Opal cards.
All Visa, Mastercard and AMEX cards will be accepted, with commuters who use the contactless sytem also eligible for the daily and Sunday travel cap savings.
However, the weekly travel discount, concession and transfer discount will not be available to customers.
Transit officers will still be able to check if you've tapped on and off, even if you've used a credit card or mobile device.
