Goldfields residents will be able to enjoy a dazzling experience this silly season, with the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Visitor Centre presenting its first Christmas lights tram tour.
An annual tradition previously run by Golden Mile Loopline Railway, the last time the tour was held was three years ago, before the lease on the tram expired in October 2016.
After receiving a $100,000 grant from the State Government’s Local Projects Local Jobs program, the tram, a replica of the design used in the Goldfields in the 1900s, is back on the road this festive season.
The tram tour will show passengers the best displays of Christmas lights Kalgoorlie-Boulder has to offer with hour-long after-dark tours planned.
Tickets for the tour have been selling fast, with four sessions already sold out. Tours run twice daily from tonight up until Christmas Eve, ticket holders can expect to see some spectacular sights.
Tickets are $50 for a family, $20 for adults, $5 for children and children under two are free. Bookings are essential and can be made at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Visitor Centre.
