Two children have gone on a vandalism spree targeting the Darling Heights State School on the weekend.

The children, a girl aged 13 and a 10-year-old boy smashed windows and stole lollies, ice blocks and soft-drinks from the school on Friday night.

Police picked the juveniles up on Saturday, after they were found with several of the items that were taken from the school.

The duo is reportedly to also be linked to a similar incident at the school in October this year, however police say that these two children are not connected to four other break and enters of Toowoomba schools in recent weeks.

The cost of the damage is unclear at this stage but the taxpayer will foot the bill.
