If you’re used to travelling with just carry on, you might want to be mindful of how much luggage you’re taking on board.
Qantas is cracking down on oversized carry-on luggage, in a bid to stop delays caused by passengers flouting the rules.
The airline will now be policing weight limits at the gate – with a spokesperson telling News.com.au there would be a “renewed focus” on checking baggage limits.
"Qantas offers the most generous amount of cabin baggage of any Australian airline and we know customers like the convenience of not having to check in luggage,” he said.
"But we’re getting feedback from regular flyers who say all customers need to be reminded about how much luggage they can take on board. So we’re renewing our focus to keep cabin baggage within the allowances and to ensure everyone has their fair share of space.”
Currently Qantas allowed two carry-on items, neither of which can be over 7kg.
