Charles Sturt University will keep its name.

Vice Chancellor Andrew Vann says they've heard loud and clear that the community is connected to the organisation's name and its rich history, and believes it's important to reflect those views.

It comes after consultation sessions were held in six locations, including Wagga, and online.

Professor Vann says consultation also told the university that communities agree with the organisation's strategic direction, so they will move forward with changes to its visual identity, logo and marketing approach.
