This week, we're saying thanks to some of Victoria's longest-serving teachers who are based here in the Gippsland region.

Across Victoria, more than 400 education providers have been recognised for their dedication, acknowledging those who have clocked up service between 40 and 55 years on the job.

Locally, we have Morwell Park Primary School's Allan Johnson, Yarram Secondary College's Collin Dierickx, Drouin Secondary College's Andrew Marks, Neerim South Primary School's Jennifer Prout, and Lowanna College's Brian Stephens celebrating 40 years of teaching.

Minister for Education James Merlino says from the transition from blackboard to whiteboard to smartboard, it's fantastic to see these teachers have been a part of a steep learning curve for all involved in education.
