There are major delays on the Flemington Racecourse train line after a car parked on the tracks.

Police are attending to the car, which has stopped across rail lines at the Ascot Vale level crossing.

It appears to be part of a protest, with 'Evacuate Manus' spray painted across the bonnet.

"Australia supports cruelty people and animals" another sign says.

Channel 9 reports a woman has been arrested.
