We’re being told to be aware of heat and fire safety procedures this week as temperatures soar across the state and fire danger levels rise.

The Bureau of Meteorology expects temperatures to hit 39°C in Adelaide, 43°C in Renmark and 47°C in Oodnadatta today, with those numbers rising come Tuesday.

As for fire danger, a fire weather warning has been issued for the Mount Lofty Ranges, with majority of the state on very high alert:
