Jumping on a plane is set to get more expensive – with Australian travellers facing some of the biggest price increases in the world.

A new report from travel management platform RTWT and the Global Business Travel Association showed Australian domestic economy airfares increasing by 4.7 per cent next year and business economy seats jumping by 7.1 per cent.

International economy fares are forecast to climb by 7.2 per cent and business 6.1 per cent.

These increases are more than double the global average and are driven mostly by the exchange rate, and increased cost of fuel.
