Today the news broke that Cowboy Antonio Winterstein will retire from the game, effective immediately.

The 30-year-old has been battling a knee injury and has decided that before the damage becomes unrepairable, to hang up his footy boots.

While NRL fans are getting their heads around the announcement, no one is feeling the decision more than Antonio's wife, Brooke.

The soon-to-be Mum of four has posted on social media about the retirement.

"I can barely ever talk about him and not get emotional at the best of times so all this right now is too overwhelming," Brooke wrote on Instagram.

"We love you, We are so proud of you and We will be cheering your name for the rest of forever...
We got this my love."

She finished her Insta post with #onedayatatime #oursuperman

Antonion and Brooke are expecting their fourth daugther this August and we wish them all the best.
