You eat broccoli with your dinner, you sometimes eat it for breakfast and when you feel like it, you toss it in a salad for lunch.

But would you drink it?

CSIRO researchers are urging people to start drinking broccoli lattes instead of coffee.

The drinks are made with a powdered form of the brassica and as broccoli is a nutrient-rich vegetable full of fibre, vitamins A, B1 and B6, potassium, zinc and magnesium, researchers are hoping that people will start adding the powdered vegetable to their morning coffee!

CSIRO food scientist Maryann Augustin says that "Two tablespoons of broccoli powder is equivalent to one serve of vegetables."

In a broccoli latte, the powder is added to a pulled espresso shot, before steamed milk is added and more powder is sprinkled on top.

These days, it's not unusual to order a turmeric latte, a blue algae latte or a chai latte at a café, but would you order a broccoli latte?
