Better Radio & Mobile Coverage in Albany
New tower near The Gap
Mobile and radio coverage along Albany's notorious coastline is set to improve, with a new mobile tower planned to be built near The Gap.
The tower will go up at the Cave Point Lighthouse, thanks to joint funding from the Federal and State Governments together with Telstra. It's set to provide coverage along Torndirrup National Park and around Salmon Holes, where 13 people have died in the past four decades.
A Telstra Go-Repeater has also been installed at Salmon Holes beach, to provide mobile coverage for first responders.
