Dr Skye Kinder has been named the 2019 Victorian Young Australian of the Year at a ceremony in Melbourne last night.
The Bendigo doctor been recognised for her efforts as a rural health advocate and improving the health of other marginalised patients around Australia.
Dr Kinder will now go into the running to be named the Young Australian of the Year next Australia Day.
She was one of 4 award recipients on the night with the Victorian Australian of the Year going to managing director of Medicines Development for Global Health Mark Sullivan.
While Alison Harcourt was named as the Victorian Senior Australian of the Year for her work in mathematics and statistics.
