As the era of fur babies takes over we are slowly seeing more and more options open up to include our beloved little friends in our daily lives, including hotels!

1 Hotels are behind some of the most impressive sustainability-focused hotels in the US and are completely pet-friendly.

Their new hotel will be its first property in Australia and will not only allow pets, but it’ll also welcome them, with in-room dog beds, dog treats in the minibar, walking services, day-care and a dog-friendly concierge.

Talk about some serious royal treatment!

The hotel is set to open its doors on the northern banks of the Yarra in 2022 (opposite the Melbourne Convention Centre).

There’ll be no extra charge for your four-legged friends, which the hotel currently defines as dogs (it doesn’t rule out other animals, but a spokesperson has stated that they’d be considered on a case-by-case basis).

Only a few rules apply.

Owners are responsible for any damage their fur bubs cause, pets must be on a leash in public spaces, and they can’t be left alone.

Their New York branch currently only allows dogs weighing up to 12 kilograms, and it’s likely the Melbourne hotel will follow suit.

What a time to be alive! Hopefully, we get to see more hotels like these pop up in the years to come!
