Two Limestone Coast locals are set to be recognised for their efforts giving back to the community, as Australia Day celebrations continue.


Tantanoola's Beth Serle will receive an Order of Australia Medal for her service to Basketball.

Beth has been a volunteer with Basketball Mount Gambier since 1969, and a life member since 1976.


She has been a life member of Basketball South Australia since 1989.

She is known as a prominent figure throughout the sporting community - for her tireless effort for the Limestone Coast's basketball leagues.


Lynette Mary Martin will also be on the receiving end of an Order of Australia Medal, for her efforts and service to the community of Mount Gambier.


Lynette has been the President of Mount Gambier Chamber of Commerce since 2007.


She was a founding member and past President of the Rotoract Club Mount Gambier in the 1970s.

Lynnete is a chair and Gold Committee member, fundraising for the Crippled Children's Association since 1997, and a member of the Mount Gambier Branch of Australian Red Cross since 1987.


Lynette Martin and Beth Serle will receive the prestigious accolade today.
