Nominations are now open for Australia Day WA Citizen of the Year awards.
The awards aim to reward and recognise individuals and organisations who provide an outstanding contribution towards
the advancement and wellbeing of our community.
Albany Mayor Dennis Wellington encouraged the community to nominate those who had made a difference or achieved
something great for their community.
“We need to celebrate our people and recognise the excellent work they are doing within our community,” Mayor
“Whether it’s your mother, brother, aunty, cousin or friend, if they’ve made a contribution to our region or the health and
happiness of our community you need to nominate them so we can acknowledge them and celebrate their contribution
Nominations are being sought for the following categories:
Citizen of the Year
Citizen of the Year – Youth (under 25’s)
Citizen of the Year – Senior (65 years and older)
Award for Active Citizenship (Community group or event
Nomination forms can be completed online at www.citizenshipawards.com.au or by picking up a hard copy nomination
form from the City of Albany, 102 North Road.
Winners will be announce at the Australia Day Festival on January 26 2018.
