AO Natasha Stott Despoja Speaks To The Gravity Of Gendered Violence & How It's Preventable
Enough Is Enough.
"One in three Australian women have experienced some form of physical or sexual violence over the age of 15"
Bec, Cosi, and Lehmo spoke to author, former senator, and UN representative Natasha Stott Despoja about the horrible truths surrounding gendered violence and the treatment of women around the world.
"On average one woman a week is murdered by a current or former partner."
On the bright side, "violence against women and children is preventable through proper education".
Natasha Stott Despoja speaks about Gendered Violence, the importance of education and why Reclaim The Run is just as crucial now as it was in 2019:
In 2019, 2000 people chose to stand up for women’s safety when we ran our first Reclaim The Run at Elder Park. We know women’s safety is not just an issue on our streets, but in our homes too.
The original event was born following the frightening attacks on two local women in Oaklands Park while out for a run. Violence against women has to stop.
Our friends, wives, sisters, mums, and daughters deserve to feel safe at home, at work, and in public.
Bec, Cosi, and Lehmo drawing attention to violence against women with the second Reclaim The Run.
This is a campaign to Reclaim women’s safety. Enough is enough. Join us for a 3km run around Elder Park on July 29.
Bec, Cosi, and Lehmo encourage all to attend Reclaim The Run from 6pm-9pm Thursday July 29 – register your sports club now at https://www.hit.com.au/adelaide/win/safm-s-reclaim-the-run-174300
